June 1 - International Children's Day
Children's Day was established in 1949 by the “Democratic Federation of Women” Congress in Paris. It's a day to champion children's rights, promote togetherness and awareness amongst all children and improve child welfare worldwide. Universal Children's Day is a brilliant time to teach your children about diversity and acceptance.
China was one of the first countries to support the initiative.In December 1949, by the PRC government decision 1 June was announced International Children's Day.
Some of the most popular Children's Day traditions in China include taking one's child to the 公园 (gōngyuán), or “park,” making their favorite snack or dinner, and giving them a 礼物 (lǐwù), or “gift.”Some common gifts include candy, balloons, and toys.
